Website Traffic Generation – Classified Ads

July 29th, 2010

Classified advertising have been with us for the past many years, even before most of us were even born.

Before the web came along, classified ads can be seen on newspaper that we read everyday. Even when the internet came into this world, classified ads never did die with the web but instead they went online.

Today thousands of Classified Advertising websites can be seen on internet and one of the best I found so far is at http://www.craigslist.com/. This site is very popular with search engines and posting your ads on Craigslist can get pick up by search engines.

But you have to be careful though when posting your ads there as the community is self-moderating and could get your ads deleted if they think it’s a spam.

So read the rules before you start posting your ads and if you follow them, you’ll be safe.

Make your ads look professional, post it in the correct category and it will have the better chance getting accepted and your ads will be crawled by search engines spiders.

The best way to write your ads on Craigslist is to write in a similar way to writing articles but don’t have to be as long, and the rules to write good articles will also apply to when writing your ad copy on Craigslist, and that is:

  • Use your keyword in the title.
  • Use the keyword more often in the body.
  • Use your keyword in the link text.

The purpose of doing these is to get the search engines spiders to find your ad and send visitors to your site. You’ll get visitors both from the search engines and from Craigslist users.

Oh by the way, it’s free for small business owners to post ads on Craigslist.

Good luck.
