The Quickest Way To Find Product To Sell

May 19th, 2010

The good thing about doing business on internet is that you really don’t need a product of your own to begin.

If you want to start your online business immediately, you can sell products that are created by other people that did the hard work creating for you.

You got two ways. You can sell,

  • resale rights products or
  • affiliate products

Resale rights products are products you bought that have the licence to resell and you can resell for full profits.

Affiliate products are products that are offered for sale through partners (the affiliates) and for each successful sale achieved, the affiliates will be given commissions by the product owner.

Between these two, promoting affiliate products is by far the easiest and fastest approach. There are affiliates who made huge amount of money by promoting affiliate products alone.

However, there’s a downside. There are cases where some product owners don’t pay their affiliates on time and some didn’t pay at all. It stinks but this is a reality.

So I would recommend joining ClickBank at http://www.clickbank.com.

ClickBank offers more than 15,000 various kinds of products for affiliates to promote and never fail to pay their affiliates on time. ClickBank has a good reputation recommended by many.

You can search for products in ClickBank by clicking the ‘Marketplace’ link which is at the top and pick a category to browse the products available for you to promote.

Now here’s the tip.

When choosing a product from ClickBank look for gravity in the range of 60 – 100 because lower than 60 probably not so popular to sell well and above 100 probably too saturated in the market. This is just a guide and is not a ‘must do’ rules, but it can help you to focus on products you can promote with manageable competition.

It’s also better to choose products with ‘$/sale’ of more than $20 so that you can make profits after covering the cost of your paid advertising.

Now before I go, I would like to give a little advice on how you can truly make massive commissions and maintaining a long term internet business.

  • Choose affiliate products that have a higher payout commissions.
  • Build multiple streams of income by promoting multiple products.
  • Look for more ways of increasing traffic and sales while lowering overhead and advertising costs.
  • Maximizes the efficiency of one campaign before moving on to a new one.
  • Build highly targeted and responsive list of your own subscribers and build trust with your list for long term relationship.

Cheers.

What To Sell On Internet

May 16th, 2010

Anything as long as you sells something,

  • which have lots of people are searching for on the internet
  • with little competition for you to compete

If you focus on niches which have these 2 criteria, then it’s the way to get profits quickly.

I would also recommend selling something that you are passionate about. Some niche that you are familiar with so it gives you the advantage when doing the marketing efforts later on. But still it should have the 2 criteria.

There’s an excellent free tool out there that can help you with this research.

You can find it at http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/gtrends/ .

This is what the main page looks like.

This is really a fantastic tool. It can give you an idea of which niche that you can dominate at a profit. It also gives you the information of where you can find the products that you can be affiliated with.

Before you can start using this tool, you need to find good keywords that are related to your targeted niche. Keywords are words that are used by people that they typed in the search box in search engines. It can be a single word or a set of words.

Let’s take an example, and you are going to sell guitar on the internet. So the keyword that you will use can be ‘guitar’. Now head to the keyword tool and type in ‘guitar’ in the search box and click ‘Hit Me’. See example below.

The tool will list out 100 keywords related to the word ‘guitar’. Now let’s see the amount of searches that the word ‘guitar’ received.

It shows that in the past, it received about 6,794 searches. That is great and a niche that you would want to target, but this is only the first step.

Now you need to check on its competition, so click the icon on the right.

This is what you’ll see.

You know that the word ‘guitar’ already received 6,794 searches in the past, that’s the first great news. If your website is placed at #1 spot, you are going to receive a potential 65,968 visitors a day, that’s the second great news.

To be in #1 spot you need to compete with 184,000,000 websites, that’s not good and way too much competitors. It’s not that you can’t sell guitar but you’ll have a hard time competing against your competition and you need a lot of work to get your website to #1 spot.

So you should try something else. Let’s take another business approach. Maybe you would like to try selling music that can be played with a guitar.

So let’s go back to the main page and scroll down the list and check for any related keywords.

There’s keyword ‘free guitar music’ in the list. Now do the same thing as you did earlier.

This is what you’ll see.

This keyword received 393 searches in the past, and in #1 spot you will get 220 visitors a day with 22,700 websites to compete. This is wonderful, now you’ve found a niche that you can target at. The tool even recommends targeting a niche that has less than 30,000 competitions and more than 100 visitors a day.

Now you can start your internet business. You could set up a membership site where your site is going to provide free guitar music. You let your visitors to sign up for free and give them the option to upgrade their membership with a monthly fee so upgraded members will receive more quality items like training courses to hone up the skills to play better or the latest music. You can also include promoting guitars in your membership sites so members can also buy a guitar from you when they need it.

Here’s the video that will show you how this tool works.

This keyword research tool recommends you to dominate a niche that have less than 30,000 competing websites and more than 100 visitors a day, but I would not take this recommended numbers too seriously. If you would follow exactly what the tools suggested, it’ll take you some time to find a niche.

I would still go for a niche that have more than 30,000 competitions but not more than 100,000 competing websites, and less than 100 potential visitors but not lesser than 50.

Cheers.
